The Priory Group was created in 1980 with the purchase of the Priory Hospital, Roehampton by a US healthcare company. Roehampton site has been in continuous operation since its launch in 1872 by the psychiatrist of great distinction, Dr. William Wood. During the following decades, the Group acquired more hospitals and diversified their services. In 1993 the Priory Group moved to specialized education services with the purchase of Jacques Hall Foundation, then a therapeutic community for adolescents, in Manningtree, Essex.
Our division of older people was established in May 2009 and now known as Amore Care. The Priory Group acquired Craegmoor March 2011 allowing an increase in the portfolios of hospital and specialized educational schools in the group. As the market leader in autism and learning disability services, Craegmoor allows the group to create a new division that operates in that market.
Our network of facilities enables us to offer high quality join care pathways. We offer programs that integrate health services, counseling, and education specialists that cater to individual needs in a suitable environment.
